American Girl Spring Releases

Hey Dollie Lovers!

I am loving the AG spring releases.  I am so ready to get rid of that drab winter weather!  Sadly, in my part of the country, that isn't happening.  Anyways, lets get started on the reviews!

I love Kit's Candy-Making Set. The details are perfect!  I love all of the little things, like the chocolate bunny!  My favorite part though, is Kit's dress.  It is just lovely!  The color and ribbon trim is fantastic!

The Double-Bow dress is very cute.  The color is beautiful, and would be perfect for a spring tea party.  The one thing I would change though, is the matchy-ness.  The outfit is a beautiful shade of blue, but I feel like there is just too much of it.  The dress is blue, the headband is blue, and so are the shoes.  Maybe some silver accessories would look better.

This is a great set, and it is historically accurate.  I love the boots, and disco ball.  But for $64?  I just wouldn't buy it.

The Rainy Day Outfit is wonderful!  It is so cute, and I think it is vey American Girl-y.  The bows on the boots are perfect!

I love the new hairstyling sets for the historical dolls!  The set pictured is Addy's .  I think that it is great for styling your historical doll's hair, or for giving your MAG a historical look also.

The Swim Outfit & Gear for dolls is adorable.  I'm not crazy about the swimsuit pattern, but it is still cute.  The cover-up would be a great summer dress as well.

I cannot say how much I love this set!  It is super trendy and cute.  I love how you can use the slip-covers, or how you can set them a side.  This is definitely on my wish list.

You can find all of these items at The American Girl Website

Lovely Locks: Braided Headband

Hey!

Today, I am going to teach you how to do a braided headband  your doll. So, let's get started!

So, when doing a hairstyle on dolls with curly hair (like Saige) there is some "prepping" involved.  I do it in three easy steps: spritz, brush, twist.  I don't do this every time, but only when it is needed.

Spritz: When you spritz a curl, don't drench it.  Just spritz it lightly.

Brush: When you brush a curl, make sure you get all the tangles out.  This way, the curl will look smooth and neat.

Twist: Twist the curl the way it lays. If it is turning more to the left, twist tightly in that direction.

This is my finished curl.  Now, you want to repeat the steps for the rest of the curls.

When you are finished, be sure to let the curls dry.  This way, they can set.

Now, we will start the braided headband!

The first step is to take a piece of hair and braid upwards.

Next, you want to cross the braid to the other side of your doll's head.  Then, clip the braid wherever it ends.  In this case, under the dolls head.

This is the finished product.  I think it looks just beautiful on Saige.

I hope you enjoyed this "Lovely Locks" tutorial!  Don't forget to speak your mind in the comments!

Doll Room Tour!

Hey Dollie Lovers!

Today I will give you a tour of my doll room, so let's get started!

This is where Alexis and Briana sleep, the computer desk, and a chair.  The loft bed and bedding is Journey Girls, the pink bed is the AG Bloom Bed and Bedding. The nightstand, desk, and computer are all Journey Girls.  The chair is a plant holder that I got from T.J. Maxx. There are also coats and purses.

This is where Saige, Elizabeth, and Lou Mei, sleep.  Elizabeth and Lou Mei share the bed, and there is a pullout mattress and pillow underneath where Saige can sleep. I made the daybed, the mattress is AG, and the pillows are Journey Girls.  The glasses are from Michael's, and the dresser and picture frame were b-day presents.  Okay, moving on!

This is the living/dining room.  All of the furniture is from Journey Girls, and so are the cups and popcorn.  The little thingies on the mantle are miniature boxes from Thailand.  I made the turkey, and the plate is crocheted. That thing to the left is a shoe shelf.

This is the whole view.   The doll room is a walk-in-closet.

Now, as a bonus, I will introduce you to the pets!
From left to right: Stinki the beagle mix, Pepper the husky, Sugar the yorkie, and Nutmeg the bunny.  All of the pets are  AG, except for Stinki.

I hope you enjoyed this!
